BLEACH BURNS is a 2026 horror comedy short directed by Perry Feder about an image obsessed high schooler who experiences hair-related changes as picture day looms large. Feminine, coquette-ish imagery shrouded in something more visceral or sinister was the driving inspiration behind the concepts I produced for her; reflecting the story of the film itself. Itchy skin-like floral prints, blonde hair wrapping itself around a person, blue dye spoiling blonde hair. The final poster invokes a sort of imprinting of traditional gendered expectations on the main character, fighting against a burst of self expression; the image itself inspired by images of artistic alternative hair dye jobs.  I've also included the two other unselected rough concepts I provided Perry as I think they convey the film and her inspiration well, and I felt very proud of how I creatively pushed myself while working on them. Both feature images of my own hair that I physically manipulated, created scans of, and then digitally lightened.
